A point of convergence between the various public transport services, the "Intermodal Hub - Smart Mobility Area Milano Linate," will be a functional "junction" between various methods of transport (road or rail, shared or collective). It will be easily accessible by bike or underground and regardless of where you arrive, the hub will provide a range of innovative, high-tech services to make travellers' lives easier and faster.
This project will enhance Linate airport’s role as a "junction" in the urban network, therefore no longer limited to the function of an air transport access terminal, and improve and make accessibility to the airport more sustainable.
Where and what will it be like?
The hub will be located in the area between viale Forlanini, via Circonvallazione Idroscalo and the parking area of the new M4 underground, and will also be accessible via a protected cycle and pedestrian path that will connect with the existing cycle path on via Circonvallazione Idroscalo.
The area is divided into two functional areas:
The hub will be designed with innovative technological elements, readable routes, and a resilient layout that will be able to adapt to new mobility needs. The intervention will enhance Linate airport’s role as a "junction" in the urban network, therefore no longer limited to the function of an air transport access terminal, and improve and make accessibility to the airport more sustainable.
